Michigan Gamma Continues Tradition of National SAE Staff I n 1994, Pete Stevenson '94 started working for the national headquarters for Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Since that time, a Michigan Gamma alumnus has been on staff for 20 consecutive years. Pete Stevenson held the position of director of communications from 1994 to 1997. He was also the editor of The Record, the magazine for the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Today he is a pharmacy consultant for a healthcare foundation, after working nine years as a pharmaceutical representative, and lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Chris Lane '95 was on staff from 1995 to 1999 where he held the positions of educational and leadership (E&L) consultant and manager of chapter finance. As an E&L consultant, Chris traveled the country meeting with chapters and alumni to provide training and educational resources. Chris lives in Northville, Michigan, and is a client executive with Hylant, a corporate insurance broker focused primarily on serving businesses in the Midwest. His responsibilities are to develop property and casualty risk management programs for customers in the education, government, and construction industries. Chris Mundy '96 joined staff in 1996 and held positions of assistant director of communications, director of communications, editor of The Record, and deputy director where he was the second in charge of running the day-to-day operations of the fraternity. Chris left staff in 2005 after nine years to pursue a career in real estate. Today he works for @properties in Chicago where he has been recognized as one of the top 50 agents in Chicago every year since 2005. Chris can be reached at chrismundy@ atproperties.com. Gregory Somers '98 joined staff in 2003 and has worked for SAE Financial & Housing Corporation (F&H) as the associate executive director. Greg runs the day-to-day operations of F&H where they own and operate 11 fraternity houses around the United States, including the Michigan Gamma chapter house. Greg continues to work for SAE F&H and lives in Petoskey, Michigan, with his wife, Melissa, and two daughters, Ava and Emma. Greg can be reached at gsomers@sae.net. Brett Polen '11 joined staff in 2014 as the regional director for the Kerr region. During his collegiate tenure, he served as eminent deputy archon, alumni and fundraising chairman, and undergraduate representative on the Province Omega Council. In addition, he served as Province Omega archon for three years. He graduated from the 74th John O. Moseley Leadership School and also served as a faculty member on the 79th Leadership School Cruise. Adam Beckerleg '14 joined staff in 2014 as a coordinator of expansion. He graduated with honors from Michigan State University with a degree in political science/pre-law and was a refounding father of the Michigan Gamma Chapter, thriving specifically in the field of recruitment. Over the course of his two years as recruitment chairman, the chapter grew from 29 members to 113 members. During that time, his group also won the Harry S. Bunting Colony of the Year award, and he served as scholarship chairman. Adam travels the United States in his role as a coordinator of expansion and can be reached at abeckerleg@sae.net.
