GAMMA PHI BETA AT THE UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS Sigma Fall 2014 News G reetings from the Sigma Chapter House Corporation! This summer has been very busy and costly with many projects. Below is a summary of all the improvements we made for our active members. • The last two of six bathrooms in the house have been redone—they are now all beautiful and functional. • Twelve new windows on the north side have been installed and the control system for our heating and cooling system was upgraded. • A new stainless steel salad bar was purchased to be in compliance with state regulations. • Additional yearly painting and repair of roof shingles were necessary. • Using funds given to the house corporation by the Mom's Club, we were able to upgrade and refurbish approximately 30 cubbies in nine rooms. We made sure the drawers work properly and installed new hardware and granite on the dresser tops and shelves. The young women have loved these updates and room pick has become very competitive. The second floor is completely finished now, and the third floor had five rooms completed this summer. The price tag for our summer work was over $200,000. The house corporation is challenged every summer to prioritize the need and find the dollars to make it all happen. Our house is old and in need of constant repair. The chapter and the house corporation board are very grateful for your yearly gifts and strive to be good stewards of your contributions. We are all looking forward to our 100th celebration in April; 1339 Campus Road will be welcoming each of you.
