T he patrons of St. Pius X Catholic School are the foundation for our future and past successes. We were able to accomplish many goals in 2013-14 school year because of your support. On pages 2 and 3 you can find our financial report for the fiscal year of July 1, 2013-June 30, 2014, and the ways in which your dollars were utilized. In addition to those who made monetary contributions, we would like to recognize a few of the individuals who lent their time and talents to service projects affiliated with the school. We are deeply grateful for your commitment to service and know that due to your generosity, many lives within and near the St. Pius X Catholic School community have been changed for the better. St. Vincent de Paul Society: 10 families and 10 senior citizens had a better Christmas because of their adoption by St. Pius X Catholic School students' classrooms. Thank you to the Dufilho and Fleming families for your St. Vincent de Paul Society leadership in this annual service project. Knights of Columbus: In being part of the annual "40 Cans for Lent," St. Pius X Catholic School assisted with collecting 8,500+ lbs. of canned goods. School Beautification and Safety: 20-25 volunteers from the SPX Catholic School community saved the school $6,000 to improve playground safety. The school's campus beautification continues as a result of Mr. LaFrance and his painting crew's annual school painting efforts. Student Community Service: Our 3rd graders and National Junior Honor Society visited and entertained residents in area nursing homes. Students in Los Padrinos provided service to Catholic Charities and the Buddy Walk for Down Syndrome. School Service Hours Completed by School Families: Over 3,600 hours of service hours were completed by St. Pius X Catholic School families during the 2013-14 school year. They worked for what can be considered an average of an hourly wage of $10/hour, which equals to at least a $36,000 savings to the St. Pius community. Thank you for continuing to invest in the mission of St. Pius X Catholic School. Because of our family, parents, alumni, and friends, our school remains a place where children are provided with a quality Catholic education, the gospel of Jesus Christ is shared, and lives are transformed. Looking to an even better 2014-15! Tom Deming, Principal The "To restore all things in Christ" – Pope Pius X of St. Pius X Service Abounds at St. Pius X Catholic School Early Learning Center students attentively listen to stories written and illustrated by middle school students. St. Pius X parents are wonderful volunteers. One of our parents, who volunteers as a Cub Scout leader, celebrates a scouting event.
