6 SEPTEMBER 17-23, 2014 WWW.UPANDCOMINGWEEKLY.COM CITY LIFE CITY LIFE Coolest Venue Downtown Festival Park Corner of Ray Avenue and Rowan Street 910.433.1547 www.fcpr.us Festival Park, located in downtown Fayetteville at the corner of Ray Avenue and Rowan Street, has been described as the "jewel of downtown." Opening in 2007, this city park and amphitheater sits on 14 acres of prime Fayetteville real estate and creates a first-class outdoor venue consis- tent with the quality of life reflective of our community. In addition to the Dogwood Festival, Fayetteville After Five and the Blues & Brews Festival, Festival Park hosts dozens of community events from family reunions, non-profit walkathons, company picnics to large, live-music concerts. No wonder Fayetteville residents think Festival Park is the Coolest Venue Downtown. Best Thing to Show Off/Best Museum Airborne and Special Operations Museum 100 Bragg Blvd. 910.643.2766 www.asomf.org For more than 80 years Fort Bragg, Fayetteville, Cumberland County and North Carolina have lived and worked in cooperation with one another. The Airborne & Special Operations Museum now stands as a symbol for those many years of teamwork, sacrifice and victory. The ASOM is the cen- terpiece and main attraction of Historic Downtown Fayetteville. Once you step inside, you are immersed in the history and valor that is the legacy of our airborne and special operations soldiers. With new exhibits opening periodically, visiting the museum never gets old. And, if you have family or friends coming to town, the ASOM should become a "must see" item on your To Do List. According to our readers, the ASOM truly is The Best Museum and The Best Thing to Show Off to visitors and guests who visit the Fayetteville community. Best Thing to Hide From Out-of-Town Visitors Bragg Boulevard Believe it. Every city has a Bragg Boulevard. It is not pretty, but, it is a reality. The vacant lots, storage buildings, run-down houses, used car lots, strip bars and pawn shops can be found in any town or city in the country. We are no different. However, thank goodness our city leaders and planners are working hard to clean this area up and make this category a thing of the past. Right now Bragg Boulevard may be the Best Thing to Hide From Out-of-Town Visitors, but if we continue to work at it, Bragg Boulevard could become a main gateway to Fayetteville and Fort Bragg. We'll see. Thank You To All Our Valued Customers Keeping the Carolinas Flowing Since 1983 910-486-0334 WadeHardinPlumbingInc.com
