Kicking off the celebra- tion is a special guest appearance by WNBA Player/Ac- tress Shoni Schimmel and her parents at the evening showing of her movie "Off The Rez". Followed by other feature fi lms highlighting Ameri- can Indian directors and actors, the fi lm festival is a much-loved family oriented event enjoyed by many. Saturday morning, September 27th, the Bluewater Cinemas, an entity of the CRIT, will be host to the Annual Frybread Contest where contestants will square off against each other to see who has the best tasting frybread! 42nd Annual Indian Days & Pow Wow By Joanne Winer Paul Winer, as Sweet Pie, met and visited with New York City's Naked Cow- boy in Times Square. Paul sang a song he wrote called HIgh Noon Boogie while Robert, (the Naked Cowboy) played guitar. Paul explained how he fought in Federal Court and won the Freedom the Naked Cowboy now uses to be himself on the streets. Lots of photos were taken (check out Naked Cowboy's website) and Paul received a tweet thanking him for the inspiration. Paul's Sweet Pie concert at Joe's Pub in the Public Theater as a full house, and tremendous success. The entire concert can still be viewed streamed on youtube. com/joespubny (on site, seek Sweet Pie Boogie). Paul and his original blues harmonica player, Will Pirone, also played outdoors in Union Square and Washington Square Park to hundreds more people who stopped to watch and listen to the great music. Check #RealSweetPie for addi- tional photos and iphone videos. Paul and Will Pirone will next appear this February in concert at the Q.I.A.
