On September 13, 2014, the Hope Mills
Veteran's Motorcycle Club will sponsor
its bi-annual charity poker run, which
supports local veterans. This ride raises
money for the patients at the VA Hospital.
According to Chris Pollitzer, one of the
event organizers, this run is one of the
club's biggest events. He also said that
this event is important to them because
all proceeds will go directly to the
Fayetteville VA Hospital. The event will
raise money and will also accept dona-
tions of non-perishable items like razors,
showershoes and under garments. Non-
perishable items can be brought to the
collection point, which is located at the
Veterans Motorcycle Club's clubhouse.
Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. at Bubba's 33 at Westwood Shopping Center on
Morganton in Fayetteville. The ride starts at 2 p.m.
The ride will go to the VA Hospital to visit with the in-patient veterans and to take a
group photo. From there, they will ride to Louie's Sports Bar at 2417 Robeson Street
then Bubbas at 33500 Westwood Shopping Center and finally, the ride will end at the
Veterans Motorcycle Club's clubhouse at 2280 Applebury Lane, Fayetteville.
At the clubhouse, riders will be in for some good entertainment. Food and drinks will
also be available for a donation.
This is the 10th year that the Veteran's Motorcycle Club has held a fundraiser. According
to Pollitzer, the club has raised more than $30,000 in the past and wants to make this
year's event the best one ever.
Contact the club at www.theveteransmc.com or call (910) 424-3549.
This ride will happen rain
or shine, so come out and
support those that have sup-
