A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Roland and Ella Street Mode. He was a mem- ber of Main Street Baptist Church and was retired from the NC Department of Transportation. Garett is survived by his wife, Patsy Bradley Mode of the home; son Albert Mode of Spindale, and brother, Dwaine Mode of Spindale. Funeral Services were held at Crowe's Mortuary with Rev. Bob Philbeck officiating. Burial was held in Eternal Hills Memorial Park. Crowe's Mortuary is assisting the Mode family. GLENDA FAYE ROBERTSON CLONTZ Mrs. Glenda Faye Robertson Clontz age 60 of Bostic, went home to be with The Lord on Sunday August 17, 2014. A native of Rutherford County she was a daugh- ter of the late James Carl Robertson and Ruby Mildred Lane Robertson Moore and was a former employee of Denny's in Forest City. Left to cherish her mem- ory are her fiancé Wade Locklear, one son Johnny Wray, one daughter Cindy Dobbins, one sister Joyce Wilson, two brothers Glen Edward Moore and James Michael Moore, as well as a number of other friends and relatives. A celebration of her life was held at Glenwood Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Philbeck officiating. Concluding services were held in the church ceme- tery. Crowe's Mortuary is assisting the Clontz Family. CARLA VANCE THOMPSON Carla Thompson, age 46, of Rutherfordton, passed away Monday, August 18, 2014. A native of Huntington, WV, she was the daugh- ter of Carol Toppins Vance and the late Bernard Vance. Carla was owner and operator of Audrey's Flowers and Gifts. Left to cherish her memory, in addition to her mother, is her son, Cody Thomas of Rutherfordton; daughter Saleitha Vance of Harts, WV; and brothers Mike Vance, Elvie Vance and Mark Vance, all of Harts, WV. In addition to her father, she was pre- ceded in death by her hus- band, Al Thompson. Memorial services were held at Crowe's Mortuary. Crowe's Mortuary is assisting the Thompson family. CYNTHIA LEE "CINDY" MCCRORY Cynthia Lee "Cindy" McCrory, age 57 of Lexington, SC and former- ly of Forest City passed away Friday, August 22, 2014. She was a native of Rutherford County and a daughter of the late Clyde Evans and Sue Allen Gee. She was a certified beauti- cian and she had worked as a realtor. Cindy was also a member of Florence Baptist Church and was a former choir mem- ber. Survivors include her husband, Robert W. McCrory of the home, a son, Evan D. McCrory also of the home, daughters, Tammy McCrory of Old Fort, NC, Tonya Dotson of Lexington, SC, and Teri McCrory of Casey, SC, a brother, Wallace A. Gee, Jr. of Hickory, sisters, Diane Hardin of Forest City, Kay Squires and Kathy Winfield both of Shelby. There are also seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held in the Florence Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Bobby Gantt officiating. Memorials may be made to the Florence Baptist Church Building Fund, 201 S. Broadway Street, Forest City, NC 28043.
