The Growing Demand for Greek Life
Greek Life at Ohio State is growing, and our new member classes have increased
significantly over the past 10 years. As Ohio State continues to attract top students
who excel in and out of the classroom, the pool of women wanting the leadership,
service, and social opportunities sororities offer is expanding exponentially. Beta
Nu has more than 150 active members today, and we anticipate that number to
increase steadily to 200. We know that connecting in the chapter house is critical
to establishing a lifelong commitment to Kappa. Our home needs enough bed
space to house a full sophomore class alongside junior class leadership. We must
also expand meeting, dining, and community space that will accommodate our
entire membership.
A Traditional Home with Competitive Edge
The Ohio State University is as academically challenging as ever and the need
for enhanced, quiet, well-lit, and comfortable study spaces within our facility is
necessary for our members to achieve high academic success. Infrastructure,
efficiency, and amenity upgrades must also be made to accommodate the increased
number of residents and use of technology in the home. In order to remain a
scholastic leader at OSU and within the Greek community, we must ensure that
Beta Nu can compete with new on-campus residence halls and attract women
who excel academically.
There has never been a more perfect time for Beta Nu to blaze a new trail and set
ourselves apart from other chapters at Ohio State. Changes at OSU, the growing
demand for Greek Life, and the needs of today's student converge to create an
urgent need to update our home. For Kappa Kappa Gamma to remain the premier
sorority at The Ohio State University, we must renovate and expand our facility to
attract the quality of women we have called our own for the past 125 years.
