It is already crowded with local purveyors of locally grown farm fresh foods as well as home made and local created items. There is pleasant air throughout the market. People greeting friends and so many on a "discovery tour"! A local musician fills the air with music. Soap makers, herbal offerings, plants, free coffee, homemade breads are just some of the many offerings in addition to local grown vegetables. The market has grown so fast and every space is now taken. Soon, there will have to be tents surrounding the permanent building as the farmers market expands. The Forest City Farmers Market is an overwhelming success. Those offering items will quickly tell you that the new facility sells twice or sometimes three times what was sold before. Everyone is happy and it shows. The lady who offers homemade breads sometimes sells completely out. One eager participant offers a free plant with every vegetable purchase. When we first wrote about the permanent facility being moved and built in Forest City, we stated that it was a win- win situation for everyone. It certainly has and is a huge showcase of the goodness growing and being created in Rutherford County. It has turned out to be a tremendous asset for Forest City as well as Rutherford County and had exceeded all expectations. Without a doubt, the permanent Forest City Farmers Market is not only welcomed but already has become a major part of Rutherford County. Congratulations! Hours of operation are Tuesday and Saturday 8am-1pm and Thursday 3pm-7pm.
