honoring our Past o n December 20, 1881, Glenn Lewis Miller, John Thomas Harlowe, John Dice McClaren, William Chase Stevens, and Samuel Thomas Seaton founded Pi Deuteron Chapter and created a bond more than 2,300 young men have experienced. Since our founding, Pi Deuteron has been one of the premier fraternities at KU and, from 1881 through today, our proud history speaks for itself through high academic achievement and leadership within the University. Pi Deuteron has influenced the lives of numerous young men, cultivating lasting friendships in the process. While many of our graduates have gone on to successful and distinguished careers in business, engineering, technology, and countless other endeavors, the common bond of our brotherhood remains, along with our shared principles and values. Many of us place significant value on our Phi Gamma Delta membership, on the longtime friendships we made, on the development of our values and principles, and on the many ways FIJI enhanced our college years. Our Chapter House is clearly the focus of undergraduate life for FIJI. It has been a home away from home for hundreds of young men and the access to an education that went beyond what was learned in the classrooms of KU. The previous campaign over 15 years ago responded to a critical need. Our Chapter and all Greek chapters were forced to bring facilities up to current fire and life-safety codes or face closure. Now we are faced with a strategic need. Our response to this situation must be bold and ambitious, so that we put our Fraternity on solid ground. If we wish for our Fraternity to hold its traditional strong presence on the KU campus, we must ensure we are providing a safe, modern, and competitive facility that allows Pi Deuteron to recruit the best and brightest KU has to offer. We have always been mighty proud of Pi Deut and now is the time to secure our future.
