O ur home at 2121 Sunset Drive has impacted the lives of countless men who have been initiated into the Gamma Pi Chapter. DTD is a support system that provides lifetime friendships, contacts, social opportunities, and, simply, fond memories. Our home has served us well since it was built in 1953. However, as maintenance concerns grow and competition increases from Iowa State and other fraternities, the Shelter has become a liability. We have gotten everything we can out of this building. To resolve that liability, the Gamma Pi House Corporation has committed to providing a facility that will meet the needs of our brothers for the next 100 years. The house corporation has developed a solid strategy to provide a facility that reflects the long-standing tradition of Delt excellence at Iowa State. This hard work has produced a plan to look toward the future and provide our fraternity with a first-class facility. We are pleased to announce the Honoring Our History, Building Our Future campaign, which will ensure the legacy that each of us helped build continues on. Current quiet phase commitments from dedicated Gamma Pi alumni and active members along with restricted funds held from the 2001 campaign now total $2.38 million for our new Shelter. The traditions and successes of Gamma Pi happen because of our members, not because of a physical structure. But the Shelter is where brothers live, learn, and lead one another. It is where memories have been created for the past 61 years by many brothers. It is important that as alumni, we allow and provide for future generations to make their own memories in a new home. Previous visionary Delts who came before us provided the tradition that each of us helped build upon. We were given the opportunity to join Gamma Pi and be a part of a special brotherhood and tradition. This is our chance in our lives to repay what those Delts provided us. Those of us who enjoyed the brotherhood, camaraderie and support of our fraternity will forever owe a debt of gratitude for that unique experience. Now is the time to join us for the education of youth and provide the same experience to new generations of Delts. I hope you will join our growing list of supporters who wish to ensure the lasting impact of the Delt experience on the lives of young men attending Iowa State.
