Corning High School Evan McFadden Senior EvanistrulyoneofCorningUnion High School's leaders. He is a solid student in the classroom and is always willing to go the extra mile to do as good a job as possible in all that he attempts. His citizenship on our campus is exemplary – you won't find a nicer young man than Evan McFadden. He has earned a 3.8 grade point average while taking academically challenging courses in math, science and Spanish. As a member of our Leadership class, Evan is one of our most reliable young men – a go to guy for anything that needs to be done! He's an outstanding athlete who has excelled in football, wrestling and baseball. Evan is very involved in Interact Club, CSF, ASB, Cardnivore Club and just about every aspect of campus life. He's been an outstanding mentor figure for the younger students on our campus. Evan is a perfect example of what is right with young people today – a well rounded person that anyone would be proud to know. He plans on attending Oregon State University in the fall. Jake is willing to take risks in his thinking and he communicates articulately and with precision. Jake continually raises the level of conversation and helps keeping the class moving forward. Jake is accustomed to overcoming obstacles and never baulks at a challenge. Conversely, he will add additional elements to assignments to make them more relevant or even more challenging to himself. His focus, attention to detail and willingness to express himself through creative design makes him an excellent artist. A first rate student with an array of wonderful qualities, one of her greatest strengths is her tenacity. In everything he does, from the classroom to the basketball court and his role in student government, Nick exudes the competent confidence of a born leader. He is a member of our phenomenal NSCIF Champion back to back Varsity Basketball Team. Along with teammates Michael Shoemaker and Chayce Maday, he shares the school record for varsity basketball wins. He's a very athletic young man with the work ethic and intelligence needed to excel at the collegiate level. Nick is also an accomplished baseball player. But where Nick really shines is in academics. He has a nimble mind and is quick to catch on to even complex ideas. He also is a good communicator whether speaking or writing. Nick plans on attending Simpson University, where he plans to play basketball. He wants to major in sports and business management and then wants to earn a law degree from Columbia Law School – truly one of our most prestigious law schools. Nick is very involved on campus as our ASB Secretary and is often seen with Mrs. Felton assisting with rallies and assemblies. He's been a four year member of CSF and has also served our community as a youth basketball coach – an excellent role model for young boys. Academically, Alex meets and exceeds all expectations. In science, she is not just a student, but a scientist. She studies, explores, and most importantly questions. In math, she is a mathematician.
