5 Sigma Chi - University of Alabama T he Iota Iota is proud to report the merit and lead- ership of our brothers are better than ever. Many brothers hold important leadership positions in organi- zations on campus and continue to improve our visibil- ity at the University of Alabama. We want to recognize those who keep Iota Iota at the top. Jake Bottcher '16 and Quinn Meineke '16 have positions in Capstone Men and Women, Matt Macia '16 was selected to serve as a Greek Ambassador, and Ford Lindsay '16 is a University of Alabama steward. We are proud of them and look to continue our involvement on campus. PHILANTHROPY AND COMMuNITY INvOLveMeNT Philanthropy Chairman Danlee Wallace '17 has been working hard and the chapter has partaken in a handful of new events. In February, we teamed up with Delta Gamma and the University of Alabama wheelchair bas- ketball team for an event benefitting Adaptive Athletics. Along with this event, we teamed up with Pi Kappa Alpha and most of the Greek organizations for Be the Match. This was an event to find a match for a bone marrow transplant for the daughter of a Pi Kappa Alpha alumnus. It was successful, and was one of the largest Be the Match events across the nation. IMPROvING ACADeMIC STRATeGY We are working on improving our academics and rais- ing our GPA. Last year we won the most improved fra- ternity GPA award and want to continue that effort by empowering Scholarship Chairman Nick Gravlee '16 and finding the support of on-campus tutors. CHAPTeR MeMBeRSHIP ON THe RISe We are currently in the recruitment process and have great potential for our upcoming pledge class to be as successful as our current members. We look forward to growing our chapter and becoming more involved with our alumni who have allowed us to maintain such a rich tradition at the University of Alabama.
