Our undergraduate brothers have upheld the strong reputation of Beta Theta Pi by standing out as leaders within the community and among their peers. Campus Evolution The University of Minnesota campus housing has grown significantly in the last 20 years. It is offering modern upgrades to numerous areas of the college experience students desire. A new facility has been built adjacent to the chapter house that offers students an alternative housing option. Theta Chi fraternity and Chi Omega sorority are two organizations that occupy a portion of the facility to house their members. The new struc- ture provides all housed students with access to larger public spaces, dining halls while still close to the cam- pus. In addition, private companies are building several multi-level, off-campus apartments with modern utili- ties and technology. With all of the on- and off-campus housing facilities sprouting up, the U of M is no longer primarily the commuter campus that it once was. Greek Housing Upgrades Fraternities across campus are renovating their houses and addressing the modern conveniences, safety con- cerns, and enhanced rooms required to stay competitive with both campus facilities and off-campus housing. Sigma Chi spent the summer of 2013 renovating bedrooms and upgrading out-of-date amenities to their facility. FarmHouse and Alpha Gamma Rho have undertaken capital campaigns to make major renovations to their structures. Alpha Gamma Rho has a goal of $2.65 mil- lion and FarmHouse $2.5 million. U of M leadership is increasingly pro-Greek and has a goal to double the Greek community. With all of these factors, Beta is in position to grow to the largest size of our history if we can be competitive with our housing, programming, developmental offerings, and alumni support.
