Alumni Support Vital to Success
Make Plans to Visit This Fall
T
he New Hampshire Beta Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon
continues to be one of the premier fraternities on campus.
Behind the support of a strong bond of brotherhood, the chapter
has used the values and ideals of the True
Gentleman to make this organization the
model for success in Greek life at the
University of New Hampshire.
A strong undergraduate leadership core of
past and present executives working with a
small and dedicated group of alumni have
allowed New Hampshire Beta to flourish as it
has achieved lofty goals as an organization.
Just this year the chapter achieved platinum
status among all Greek organizations for
its philanthropic endeavors and community
service. The chapter was recognized as
one of the top Greek organizations by the
University's Greek points system.
Alumni support continues to be a cornerstone
in aiding the undergraduate chapter. It would
not be possible without the dedication and
commitment of those who are involved. Men like Richard "Dick"
Hooker '55, Tim Turcotte '85, Steve Philbrick '75, Andy Bisson
'10, and Mike Allen '10 have given their valuable time and input so
that the undergraduate chapter can learn and prosper.
As a founding brother during the re-colonization of New Hampshire
Beta in 2009, I have had the privilege to see the chapter rise
from the ashes and grow into what it is today, every step of the
way. Because of great alumni support, motivated brothers, and
a dedicated National Fraternity, the chapter has grown from four
founding members to the 74 brothers we have
in our organization today.
We look forward to our next alumni event
during Homecoming on Saturday, October 11,
2014. This fall reunion, held at 28 Madbury,
will give past brothers of New Hampshire Beta
an opportunity to see just how far we have
come since returning to campus. Alumni and
their families are invited to come by for a tour
of the house and see the recent renovations
that have been made. Following tailgating,
our house chef will smoke a whole pig on the
front lawn to go along with other food and
beverages.
Thank you again to the dedicated alumni,
whose loyal support has been vital to re-
establishing Sigma Alpha Epsilon on the
campus of the University of New Hampshire.
It is because of you that we are in the position to succeed.
Fraternally,
Brett Conroy '10
