It was a highlight taking flight with the Airmen from the 440th Airli Wing for an in-flight demonstration up the Carolina coast and back. Ever wondered how businesses, boutiques and homes get that cus- tom look where everything is perfectly pulled together? Meet local designer and military spouse Jana Donohoe and read about how her passion turned into a career along with a few tips from the expert on what is trending now. Tacos. Need I say more? Our staff taste tested some popular varie- ties from all over town and they were each diverse and unique in their flavor concoctions. Tacos make a light summer meal, ole! In our test kitchen we are preparing and sampling some tasty summer recipes from locals to be featured in our next issue, just in time for your summer picnics at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden or days at the beach. M y favorite time of the year is fast approaching: Sum- mer. I can't wait to spend time with friends and family and soak up that humid North Carolina weather. e month of May (and really any other time) is also prime time to recognize the military. is being our Military & Real Estate issue, we are proud to have stories that are fine representatives of the theme. Our Art story focuses on the eclectic collection of Mark and Denise Lynch. Mark, who is the Quality Sound & Video guru in town came to Fort Bragg as a U.S. Army Aviator and did a tour in Vietnam before settling here. McKee Homes and Miss North Carolina USA, Olivia Olvera joined forces with national non-profit Helping a Hero to build homes for Wounded Warriors in the Sandhills and all over the state. Fayetteville's version of Jesse James (but with less tattoos and con- troversy) let CityView into their hidden hot rod shop that restores vintage vehicles. We also received insight on "house flipping" by local experts Ben Stout and Rich Croegart (they're possibly the only folks in town who didn't move to Fayetteville because of Fort Bragg). Our popular "Seen at the Scene" section has an entirely new look. And check out "e Buzz," featuring the U.S. Army Veterans turned beer brewers behind Dirtbag Ales. I like to think that this issue of CityView is pretty strong…maybe even "Army strong."
