However Senior Judge Law- rence Karlton of the Eastern Dis- trict Court of California did grant dismissal for seven individually named codefendants, who were members of the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board. The Pacific Legal Foundation filed the lawsuit in October 2013 on behalf of Duarte Nursery Inc. and John Duarte, president of the family-owned business. Jerry Brown appointed Sandy Bruce in April 2013 to fill the Tehama County Supervisor term vacated by the death of George Russell the position only came with the guarantee Bruce would have it un - til the next county- wide election. T hat election comes up June 3 when Bruce is be - ing challenged by a pair of business owners for the final two years of the District 2 seat. The cha lleng- e r s t o r e p r e - sent central Te- hama County on the board are K. "Candy" Carlson and Mitchell Drury. The remaining two years of the term would begin Jan. 5, 2015. The position pays an annual sal - ary of $12,540, although a measure to raise the salary beginning with the upcoming term is also on the June 3 ballot. In 2016 the posi - tion will return to its normal 4-year election cycle. Bruce Before being appointed Bruce worked for 28 years in the fiscal department of Tehama County Social Services. She said that experience af- forded her the opportunity to be- come familiar with many county departments and local government operations, budgets and funding. A large display of antique tractors and engines will be fea- tured and there will be tractor pulls held at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday. The parade of tractors is set for Saturday afternoon. There will be many demon - strations of antique tractors and gas engines performing the jobs they were designed to do. Some are more than 100 years old. This is the oldest agriculture- related show of its kind in the North State and showcases the ingenuity and resourcefulness of our ancestors as they were determined to make their lives more productive. The event is fun for all ages and free to the public.
