ΚΣ Beta-tau Chapter Kappa Sigma Fraternity at BaKer univerSity | Spring 2014 M ajor's Update Housing Corporation Sets the Stage for Success at Kappa Sig Alumni Encouraged to Get Involved with the Board I hope this issue of Major's Update finds you well and that you enjoy the new look of our newsletter. It's an exciting time to be a Kappa Sig at Baker and we want all of our alumni to be a part of it. I wanted to share with you a note we recently received from Jennifer Letner of the Greek Affairs office: "Can I mention how high I am on Kappa Sigma right now? Six new members in the last few weeks, with possibly more to come. They work together on projects, check in with me, bring fall recruitment ideas, and are highly involved in IFC. They are great guys, and are right in the middle of mobilizing and really making changes." Scholarships Take Priority The Housing Corporation has also been busy this semester. We are in the process of getting scholarship applications out to our undergraduate brothers and planning this year's STAG event. I look forward to celebrating with all of you in May. Alumni and Actives Have Productive WorkDay As many of you know, the Chapter House is aging and most of the other fraternities on campus have undergone extensive renovations. In an effort to get to know our undergraduate brothers and help them with much-needed maintenance, we recently held our first alumni/active workday. The actives were extremely thankful for the help and the day was such a success that a follow-up workday is scheduled for April. Brothers, Get Involved I want to thank our current Housing Corporation members and remind all alumni that we are always looking for brothers to join the board. We meet once a month with meetings alternating between Baker's SPGS campus in Overland Park and the Chapter House in Baldwin City. Even if you live outside of the Kansas City area, we would love to have your input on the board and can certainly use e-mail and conference calls to communicate.
