This has been quite a different winter for all of us. Usually I just reference the Alpha Delta house and how hard the winter was for those of us in the Midwest; however, this winter has touched everyone across the U.S. I hope everyone did alright with all the different storms and temperature changes! A Harsh Winter Alpha Delta experienced some winter weather problems. Thank goodness for our contractor, Kevin Holman, and his crew. Over winter break we had a water meter burst in the chapter house and flooded the kitchen and parts of the dining room all the way into the study area, also known as the pledge room. We lost our main computer electrical system, but I am happy to report that everything was fixed and ready for the women to move back in after winter break. It made me reflect on the chapter house and all it has had to face over the years. Somehow it still maintains its purpose, which is to provide a wonderful environment for our sisters in Gamma Phi Beta. Laundry Room Updates I am happy to report that we are working on updating the laundry room. I can remember when I had to do laundry as an undergraduate member. I used to make someone come downstairs with me to switch out my clothes. That room looks the same as it did when I was in school, which is really scary! We are going to tear down a wall to expand and hope to have it completed over the summer. So, if you are in town next fall, be sure to make your way downstairs and see the new area. Summer Projects The House Corporation is getting projects set up for the summer. Repairs are necessary so we can preserve the outside of the house. Work will begin on the gutters and sealing more portions of the bricks on the house. With this project, we are pleased to be able to replace the railing on the front porch roof. Officers Attend Leadership Conference The HCB is thrilled that we are able to send all seven executive board members and our chapter advisor to convention this summer in Seattle. The women are really looking forward to attending and meeting close to 900 Gamma Phi Betas who will gather in July. Gamma Phi Beta International provides so many opportunities for women to grow and gain leadership skills. We are all working to build strong women in our organization! I could keep writing forever but I must give others a chance to add their information. We are excited to highlight our retiring members of HCB in this newsletter on page 4. We haven't done this before and figured it was time for everyone to see what wonderful and dedicated members we have to serve on the HCB. I am trying to fill some spaces on HCB. Please contact me if you know of someone who would be interested in serving Alpha Delta. In IIKE, Christy Ehrenreich '74 President, Alpha Delta House Corporation (636) 273-9665 christyehren@gmail.com H ello, Gamma Phi Beta sisters! What a busy couple of months this semester has brought to us at Alpha Delta. Beginning with the new concept of random pairings for Greek Week, we are so honored to be paired with the men of Beta Theta Pi and Sigma Alpha Epsilon. The men of Beta invited our chapter and Mom Kim to a dessert social at the Beta fraternity house. We also had our Marriage Party, which was Olympic-themed to help break the ice. WELCOME, NEW MEMBERS The chapter is excited to have six new members join us this semester after the continuous open bidding process, as well as two new affiliates, Megan ALPHA DELTA HAS SUCCESSFUL SEMESTER (Continued on page 2) Mizzou quarterback James Franklin enjoyed a study session at Alpha Delta during finals week.
