Opas & Puangtong Jutabha ACCIDENTS RAISE CONCERN If you are speeding and go for your brake, your accident will be over before you can reach it. It takes the average person 15 seconds to remove their foot from the gas pedal and onto the brake. If you are driving at 80 miles per hour you will travel 88 feet in that 15 seconds. Your travel over the road at 80 miles per hour is a rate of 120 feet per second. All too many people worry about what happened, after they wake up in the hospital. If they awaken. You can't blame conditions if you don't slow and adjust. Most all incidents that people call accidents are not accidental. They are predetermined, from disregard for others, by at least one of those drivers. Often both driv- ers are at fault for failure to adjust to driving conditions. Reduced visibility, weather and road surface condition and often there is a me fi rst attitude on the part of one or both drivers. Please pay attention to your sur- roundings, don't follow too close, use your turn signals, and try not to change lanes overmuch. It only slows traffi c for those behind you A trip to the hospital is usually worse than being late for work. The formula I used was devel- oped by the Boeing company. Al- though the 15 second reaction time is average I found that often the ones who thought they were quick- est were slowest. The word Baptism is neither a Greek word nor an Eng- lish word. It is an Anglicized word that the translators made up for the Greek word "Baptizo" which means "immersion". The translators in 1611 were under penalty of death if they mis- translated one word so when they came to the word "immersion" they feared King James because he had been sprinkled.
