Chanslorway, Blythe, CA, is offering a full slate of Holy Week / Easter worship and fellowship ac- tivities to which everyone is invit- ed. Beginning the fi rst day of Holy Week, Sun., April 13, the congrega- tion will conduct her early 8 a.m. worship service and the late, 10:15 a.m. service. Special features in- clude distribution of hand palms to everyone in attendance and a skit, "Speak Life!" presented by Zion's youth group. On Thursday of Holy Week, April 17, a 6 p.m. service will be con- ducted. Pastor Boye's meditation is entitled "The 'Maundy' in Maun- dy Thursday". Holy Communion will be celebrated. The traditional Stripping of the Altar will conclude the service. The next day, Friday, April 18, a 6 p.m. Service of Darkness will be conducted. The most austere ser- vice of the year, the service is de- signed to convey some of the deep darkness and separation Jesus felt on the cross. Joyful Resurrection services and activities are scheduled "on the third day", Easter Sunday, April 20. At 6 a.m., Zion gathers outdoors on her east parking lot to watch the sun come up and sing the praises of "Christ is Risen!" Residents of Blythe and surrounding commu- nities are cordially invited to this community event. Then, everyone is encouraged to stay for a com- plimentary Easter breakfast in the fellowship hall. Children will be treated to an Easter egg hunt fol- lowing breakfast. There will be no Bible Class nor 8a.m. service, but a festival service, fi lled with music, processional, choir, preaching, and a special liturgy, will be conducted at the regular late service beginning at 10:15am.
