O ur Oklahoma Alpha Chapter has played a prominent role at Oklahoma State for 94 years. We know all of you want to see our fraternity continue to be highly competitive on campus in regard to scholarship, leadership, and, of course, brotherhood. We have an urgent need to continue the excellence each of you has helped build for nearly a century. It's time for us to provide an updated foundation for our legacy and Oklahoma Alpha's legacy within SigEp and on the OSU campus. The dorms and other fraternities have changed the model; they are offering a host of amenities that fit the demands of the 2014 college student. They are providing suite-style living, WiFi, computers, and much more. We must also properly update our facility in order to capture the attention of the top students and leaders. This was not accomplished when we built the new house in 1978. Our Pride in Our Past, Ensuring Our Future campaign is designed to offer young men the SigEp–Oklahoma Alpha experience for growth and development we had as undergraduates. The pledges and funds received to date and in the future will be used to build a new state-of-the- art facility that meets all the needs of today's students. We have been impressed by the response from Oklahoma Alpha brothers to date, securing more than $1,141,036. Thank you so much to those who have contributed. Unfortunately, we are only about halfway there. We need another $850,000 to properly fund our project. Alumni involvement is critical to securing and improving the future of Oklahoma Alpha. Today, we're launching a challenge to all graduating classes to see which class can have the highest percent participation and total dollars raised. Currently, the classes in the lead are 1953 with 29% participation and 1974 with $152,500 raised. The classes that meet these two requirements by the time our challenge ends in December will earn naming rights to the room of their choice. So whether you have donated previously or not, we now ask you to rally your classmates to support our worthy project and strive to meet 100% class participation. See page 2 for a listing of where your graduating class stands. Others before us made loyal commitments of their time and resources to the future of SigEp and Oklahoma Alpha Chapter—now it is up to us. We hope we can count on your support!
