There is a $5.00 registration fee, and pre- registration is required by March 7, 2014. The Spring Garden School will offer you new techniques to enhance your gardening efforts. In keeping with our theme of "Design & Function In The Garden," you will learn how to utilize edible and ornamental plant materials in a variety of ways. With our spotlight on Design & Function In The Garden, special guest speaker, Dr. Lucy Bradley, Extension Urban Horticulture Specialist from NC State University will share specifi c strategies for sustainability, effi ciency, beauty and harmony for home landscapes. Featured on UNC-TV's Almanac Gardener, Lucy brings a wealth of gardening ideas to fi t your gardening needs. The Spring Garden School programming also includes the following sessions: Conifers (Bruce Appeldoorn, Appeldoorn Landscape Nursery), Japanese Gardens (Barbara Peterson, Rutherford Master Gardener Volunteer), Edible Landscaping (Sheila Dunn, Buncombe Master Gardener Volunteer), Photography In The Garden (Laurie McDaniel & Sherrill Pitman, Rutherford Master Gardener Volunteers), Succulent Wreaths (Nancy Milleman, Rutherford Master Gardener Volunteer), and Raised Bed Gardening (Sandra & Larry Hodges, Rutherford Master Gardener Volunteers.
