Our Proud Heritage
C
hi Psi at Ole Miss boasts a proud history from our founding in
1858. With a return to campus in 1970, Chi Psi was an integral
part of Greek life at Ole Miss for more than 35 years. The Alpha
Gamma Lodge provided a home away from home for more than
400 living alumni members. We came to the Lodge for a number of
reasons: to enjoy the brotherhood and camaraderie, to enjoy a football
game day, to cram for that all-important final exam, or, perhaps, even
to nurse a broken heart.
For whatever reason you came to Chi Psi, we always had a place to
call our own. Many of our best college memories can be traced back
to our Chi Psi experience at Ole Miss and the Lodge we called home
for so many years.
Alpha Gamma has a proud history of diverse membership coming
from all over the United States. While many of our alumni have
gone on to successful and distinguished careers in medicine, law,
business, engineering, technology, and countless other endeavors,
the common bond of our brotherhood remains, along with our shared
principles and values.
Through Chi Psi we not only learned the importance of friendship,
knowledge, service, and excellence, but we acquired valuable
assets, which include leadership skills, organizational skills, social
skills, teamwork, and character. For many Brothers, these traits
have been integral to our personal success and helped make us the
men we are today.
Although it was sad to see the former Lodge torn down, a new
challenge awaits Alpha Gamma. We have the opportunity to continue
our legacy at Ole Miss by providing Alpha Gamma a new Lodge that
will raise the standard of Greek housing at Ole Miss. We call upon you
to remember the opportunity afforded by the Brothers before you and
ask you to help us ensure the Chi Psi experience is available for future
generations of young men at Ole Miss to become True Gentlemen.
