Afterone semester at UTC,Boggs decid- ed baseball provided him the best shot at aprofessional career.Sohewentback to Georgia and helped the Bulldogs reach the CollegeWorldSeries in 2005, somethinghis brother,Matthew,had done twoyears earlier while playingat Georgia Tech. Draftedbythe Cardinals afterhis jun- ior year,Boggs passeduphis final year of eligibilityincollege to launch his pro baseball career. “Thatwas atough decision,”Boggs said,“because Iloved being astudent- athleteinAthens.I’d alwaysdreamed of beingaBulldog.But playing probaseball waswhatIwantedtodo.Thesituation with the Cardinals wasperfect.I’m grate- ful for the opportunityand it’s beenwon- derful.
