December 18, 2013 letters to the editor Opinions expressed in letters to the editor do not necessarily represent those of the Desert Messenger. THANK YOU TO YOUNG LADIES On Saturday, December 14th the Senior Apartments were brimming with Christmas spirit as 5 young women from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, along with their leaders and missionaries went door to door delivering gifts and sharing the holiday spirit. The girls, Cherokee Frazier, Emma Lucero, Kenedy Palmer, Connie Timberlake and Rhiyanna Timberlake baked treats and asked for donations from church and community members in order to provide each resident of the Senior Apartments with a plate of goodies. The girls then coordinated with the Quartzsite Food Bank to also help deliver a Christmas dinner and a small gift bag that was provided to the Food Bank from local donations. The Quartzsite food bank is so grateful for the service these young ladies provided and we hope to be able to make this an annual event.
