Local Eats I like a fancy drink sometimes, too, and these folks do not disappoint. When it comes to getting a nice glass of wine or a cocktail, the Farmhouse offers a full bar and several wine flights for those who would like to try something new. Several organic wines and local ales are offered, as well. The best part about eating there is that you never know in which nook of the restaurant you’ll find yourself. There are several small dining areas that make your experience feel private so the focus is on your family or date. The atmosphere is relaxed and refined, a respite from downtown and the hustle-and-bustle of everyday life. For a lunch during the holiday season, the place was tastefully decorated with pretty pointsettia tablecloths and toned-down festive tunes playing. Reservations are accepted and take-out is offered if you prefer eating at home. _ Hope Von Stengel The Farmhouse at Emmons 5649 State Route 7, Oneonta NY Open Monday - Thursday 11:30 a.m.- 2 p.m., 5-8:30 p.m.; and until 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday Jan. 6, 2011 O-Town Scene 9
