Beta Nu Bulletin 2 Beta Nu Enjoys Successful Fall Semester W Undergraduates Inspired by Alumnae Leadership ith the fall semester well underway, it brings lots of excitement to Ohio State's campus. Beta Nu has so much to share and even more to look forward to. Beta Nu Undergraduates Provide Spark for Panhellenic Community Starting last spring, Risk Management Chairwoman Nikki Hansley '12 reached out to the Panhellenic Association eager to collaborate on a seminar focusing on values, academic performance, the dangers of alcohol, brotherhood/sisterhood, and how Greeks are viewed by the outside community. Together we presented An Evening with David Stollman, Buy In or Get Out to an audience of more than 450 students from various chapters within the Greek community. Stollman is the cofounder of CAMPUSSPEAK, a national provider of educational speakers and workshops oriented toward Greek Life. He did a remarkable job of helping individuals reflect on the true values of our chapters and how to live them out in our daily lives. Sydney Butz '13, Taylor Shomo '13, Peyton Patrick '13, Paige Kroell '13, and Emily Moss '13 attend the premiere of Jersey Boys in Columbus, Ohio. Actives Make Philanthropy a Priority One event we host that always excites all of campus is our semi-annual philanthropy, Kappa Dog Day. Even on a rainy afternoon, we raised more than $1,300, surpassing last year's total! As a chapter, we have been seeking ways to engage with others in the Greek community by participating in philanthropy events hosted by our peers. We took first place at Delta Zeta's lacrosse tournament, had members place in Kappa Alpha Theta's 5k race, and 14 of our members played tennis for Phi Psi's philanthropy tournament. Kappa Enjoys Sisterhood Events in Columbus Taking advantage of what Columbus has to offer, Beta Nu jumped at the opportunity to see Jersey Boys at the Ohio Theater downtown. It was such a fun show and we ended up knowing a handful of songs like "Oh, What a Night," "My Boyfriend's Back," and "Stay." Earlier this semester, we all attended a self-defense class as a way to bond while gaining valuable skills all women should know. Actives spent a beautiful fall weekend picking apples for a sisterhood event. Alumnae Return to Help Celebrate 125 Years This semester has been filled with educational seminars, philanthropy events, and sisterhoods, but the highlight was certainly the 125th Anniversary Celebration of Beta Nu. We shared lots of laughter, reminiscing, great food, and a few sing-a-longs! It was such an honor to meet all of you there. Thank you for joining us and reminding us that Beta Nu is so much bigger than ourselves.
