Kappa Kappa Gamma • The Ohio State University Beta Nu Bulletin Fall 2013 Beta Nu Sisterhood a Key to Success W hat a fantastic six months we've had! Our board transitioned in July to include seven new trustees—a group that is diverse in experience and, most importantly, dedicated to taking Beta Nu to the next level. I'd like to thank the immediate past board members, led by Kristine Newell Hertl '99 and Kimberly Shookman '08, for their impeccable house management during their leadership tenure. Their savvy business sense laid the groundwork for our upcoming capital improvement plans. Big Plans in Store for Beta Nu I am thrilled to report great progress toward our goal to upgrade and expand our wonderful Dream House. We have finished our proposed building design and are very excited about what this projected facility will offer. We have begun the permitting process and are on schedule to break ground as soon as the actives finish spring semester on May 4, 2014. Stay tuned for more details on the future of the Dream House. 125th Anniversary Celebration a Huge Success On October 25th and 26th, we welcomed over 175 Beta Nus back to Ohio State to commemorate the 125th anniversary of Beta Nu's founding. Friday night's celebration on the top floor of the new Thompson Library and Saturday's brunch at the house provided a fantastic setting for meeting Beta Nus from all eras and being reminded of the bond we share as sisters of a chapter that has maintained its strength on campus for over 125 years. Thank you to all who participated, some of whom traveled thousands of miles to be here. Jennifer Snyder '84, Mary Jo Nesbitt Weis '83, and Kathleen Falvey Brown '84. On a personal note, I continue to be awestruck by the outpouring of support we have received from our alumnae over the past year. I have truly enjoyed every minute connecting with so many of you and look forward to more in the future. We have so much to be proud of and there's no better reminder than a call from a woman that starts, "Hi Tanya, I'm a Beta Nu Kappa." Keep 'em coming! Loyally, Tanya Rutner '02 President, Beta Nu Building Association (614) 271-8257 kkg.bnba.president@gmail.com Tanya Rutner '02 and Libby Banbury Germain '77.
