Bridal Rings Of K.Brunini Why her alternative bridal is really quite traditional By Brooke Conner Sevenau d e s i g n e r pro f il e k. brunini K atey Brunini is a multi-faceted artist, historian and entrepreneur who understands the unique niche of bridal jewelry from many angles. At her eponymous K. Brunini Jewels, she is known for creating alternative, or non-traditional, bridal pieces. Not that Brunini considers them so. "The diamond engagement ring only came into vogue in the 1930's," she explains. 'Tradition' is a funny word for such a short blip of time!" Brunini's timeless designs marry art, science and architecture into personal talismans for the wearer. Her bridal jewelry carries on this spirit. "Designing a bridal ring is like building a bridge," says Brunini. "It is foundational in both design and emotion. It is a representation of building a foundation, of starting a new family." While bridal has always been an important part of her business, two years ago Brunini relaunched her bridal line with a new focus. "I was inspired by my collectors who wanted a signature piece they could wear everyday… which essentially is your engagement ring if you wear one." What didn't change is the use of colored stones, which has always been part of Brunini's bridal collection. 44 W W W.the jeWelry book.CoM
