Alumni Update CHAPTER ETERNAL Gordon K. Van Gundia Jr. '50 entered Chapter Eternal January 14. He is survived by his two daughters, Cheryl (Richard) Perkins and Carol (Steve) Neely; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He married Reba Jean Hardy, who predeceased him in 2011. Van had much to be proud of in his lifetime, but his biggest joy was being a loving and kind husband, father, grandfather, and greatgrandfather. He and his wife, Nancy, had four children. Don recognized the benefits that he had received from his alma mater, and he gave generously to his school so as to ensure that others would have equal educational opportunities. John R. Peterson '55 entered Chapter Eternal December 27, 2012 in Winter Park, Fla. He married Jean Anderson on June 8, 1955. After Jean's death in 1990, he married Carol Snelling Jenkins in 1991; she survives him. He leaves Jean and his three daughters: Janet, married to Victor Harouny, Emily, married to Dennis Coyne, and Katherine, married to Tom Gardner; a sister, Mary Jean Peterson; and nine grandchildren. John D. Liber '60 entered Chapter Eternal July 23. He was a resident of Naples, Fla., at the time of his passing. He and his wife, Nancy have three children. ALUMNI NEWS A. Bernie Keller '40 is 96 years old and lives in an assisted living community in Carmel, Ind. Hager '58 works with a community nonprofit as well as takes part in political activities around Virginia. In 2012, he was named Outstanding Virginian and inducted into the Richmond Business Hall of Fame. John and his wife, Margaret, live in Richmond and have two sons.
