Omicronicle Omicron Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi H University of Alabama H Fall 2013 Chapter House Nearly Complete, But Our Work Is Not Done More Than $500,000 Needed to Reach Fundraising Goal I t's a very exciting time at Omicron Chapter! The façade of our grand Chapter House is nearly complete, and we have what will surely be the most striking Greek facility at the University of Alabama. Naming Opportunities Naming opportunities are still available for significant Chapter House features: • • • • • Front entrance porch framed by eight imposing, Ionic columns Largest band room on campus Courtyard that opens to band room, living room and recreation room Entry hall with marble floor, bronze great seal and marble stairway to second floor Luxurious living (TV) room Our challenge is to create an interior as excellent as the exterior. House completion is scheduled before 2014. However, we are still more than $500,000 short of our $2 million fundraising goal. To date, 152 brothers have pledged $1,435,149. That is only 10% of our alumni, which compares poorly to other recent capital campaigns on the University of Alabama campus: Participation Delta Kappa Epsilon: $4,073,703 - 50% participation Phi Gamma Delta: $1,948,484 - 33% participation Alpha Tau Omega: $1,808,987 - 21% participation Sigma Chi: $1,721,952 - 21% participation With comparable participation, our Chapter House will have the most luxurious interior and the most outstanding exterior on campus. We can succeed, but only if everybody gives something! Imagine what your college years would have been like without Pi Kappa Phi. No warm meals. No after-game parties. No late-night talks. No Chapter meetings. No feeling of belonging. No brotherhood. Fortunately, Omicron was there for you. So take a moment to imagine how much it means to Pi Kapps at the University of Alabama today and tomorrow. Give Online Gifts can now be made online through our new website, www.UAPIKAPPAPHI.com. Alternatively, use the pledge card enclosed to make your five-year tax-deductible pledge today. Donors contributing $2,500 or more will be featured on a plaque prominently displayed in our new Chapter House. If you have already contributed, we ask that you consider increasing your gift by 20% or adding a sixth year to your pledge schedule. Graduate Pi Kapps created the house you enjoyed. It's time to repay your debt to them by doing the same for current and future actives. The preeminence of our new house ensures the Chapter's future. Omicron Club had reserved funds for furnishings. All available funds were used to build the house itself. New five-year pledges will let these funds be released now. We will occupy the new house before the spring semester in January 2014. Building pledges release urgently needed funds for appropriate finishing and furnishings. Please contribute and ask your brothers to contribute. Help us finish the job!
