Gourds
For thousands of years people have used gourds as vessels for eating and drinking. They are no less useful nowadays but are more likely to be favored as simple decorations. Whether you planned ahead and grew and dried your own or you bought already dried gourds from a crafts store or garden center, gourds will add fall color and flair to your home. An assortment of gourds alone or mixed together with dried flowers will create a stunning centerpiece for your table. You can also use gourds to hold candles by hollowing out the gourds with a melon scooper and inserting a votive candle. Use them alone or in groupings of three or more in the guest bath, on your dining table or scattered about the fireplace mantle. Gourd candles are also great for outdoor entertaining in the fall.
