News GAMMA PHI BETA AT THE UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS Sigma HOUSE RENOVATIONS CONTINUE Your Donations Make a Difference S igma Chapter is looking forward to its 98th year on the KU campus. Fall recruitment went very well and we were excited to welcome 58 new members. Our home at 1339 West Campus Road houses 80 of our active members, so new members live in the dorms and seniors live out. Regardless, 165 women are able to experience the house daily. Our beautiful Georgian colonial, with the best view of the Campanile, is ready for the new school year. We were able to complete many summer projects while the active members were off campus for the summer break. Summer work included replacing 13 windows; so far we have replaced 40 of the 87. We also renovated a bathroom on the third floor; two more bathrooms will need renovation next summer. Finally, we repainted, cleaned all the carpets, and kept up with annual maintenance. All for a grand total of $118,000 for the summer's expenditures. Sigma could not be more grateful for all of your financial help throughout the year. Your donations truly make a significant difference in maintaining and restoring our very old structure.  The collegians look forward to your Sigma visits during the year. They welcome you back and will greet you with Gamma Phi hugs of gratitude. In ΠΚΕ, Sigma Chapter House Corporation New members on Bid Day. Chapter Advisor Positions Open Alumnae Assistance Needed S Fall 2013 Sigma alumnae gather on the front porch of 1339 West Campus Road after attending a mock recruitment party for alumnae and mothers of collegians. igma Chapter would like to thank Megan Knop Allen '99, new member advisor, and Lindsey Rhoton Ingram '01, education vice president advisor, who have done a wonderful job working with the chapter for the past several years. They are both stepping down to spend more time with their families. Several advisory positions are open at this time, and some only require that you keep in contact with your officer once a month, and can be done through e-mail and Skype for alumnae who don't live in the Lawrence area. If you have the time to give back to Gamma Phi in this rewarding position, please contact Brianne Brown Cook '96 at brianneb7@hotmail.com.
