Karen Goldsmith can’t remember a time when she wasn’t Dr. Karen Goldsmith environmentally aware. As a child in San Francisco, Calif., she was first exposed to ecology in 4th grade. She learned about recycling and then promptly went home and decreed that her family would start recycling. Along the way she also received a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. She managed to combine those two interests by owning and operating an organic catering and concessions business for five years. After a life-altering experience, Karen decided that she would become a Doctor of Chiropractic, which 4 | Oct/Nov • 2010 ultimately evolved into her becoming a comprehensive alternative health practitioner, with a practice that includes nutritional testing, body work and health counseling. Now a 10-year resident of Fayetteville, she practices in a very green, nurturing and — to the delight of her clients — often delicious environment. Her office is lit with true full spectrum lighting, the air is kept clean with superior air purifiers and tasty, organic treats are served.
