You may qualify if: GOUT •You are male 18 years or older •You are female 45 years or older •Have had one gout experience This clinic is conducting a clinical re- search study. Study-related medical procedures are of no cost. Qualifi ed par- ticipants may be compensated for their time and travel to the clinic. Consider the following criteria for possible participation in a local clinical research study for gout: •Men 18 years of age or older •Women 45 years of age or older •Experienced a gout fl are (painful, swollen joint, redness over joint) •Never taken any of the following medi- cations for gout: allopurinol (Zyloprim® febuxostat (Uloric® probenecid (Benuryl® ), or ) HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE/DIABETES Qualifi ed participants will receive, at no cost, the following study-related procedures: • Blood pressure monitoring • Laboratory test • Physical exams • Electrocardiograms (ECGs) • Offi ce visits • Study Medication Compensation for time and travel may be available. ), If you have high blood pressure, you may be eligible to participate in a voluntary clinical research study of an investigational medication for high blood pressure. If you’re having trouble controlling your diabetes, you may be eligible to participate in a clinical research study of an investigational medication for type 2 diabetes. To participate in the study, you should: • Be at least 18 years of age • Have a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes. • Have trouble controlling your blood sugar levels. •Have not taken insulin for longer than 1 week during the past 12 months. If you are eligible for the study, you will receive study-related care and medicine at no cost to you.
