N th C li i MEADOWLARK LEMON Harlem Globetrotters MEADOWLARK LEMON “Crown Prince” Meadow “Medowlark” Lemon was born on April 25, 1932 in Wilmington, North Carolina. He is most famous as a Harlem Globetrotter. However, he also is an actor and minister. For 22 years he was known as the “Clown Prince” of the famous touring Globetrotters. He played in more than 16,000 basketball games and is a 2003 inductee of the Basketball Hall of Fame. He attended Florida A & M University. He fi rst applied to the Globetrotters in 1954 and was fi nally chosen to play in 1955. His career was outstanding. In 2000 Lemon received the John Bunn Award, the highest honor given by the Basketball Hall of Fame outside of induction. He was inducted into the hall three years later. Lemon has ten children. He is married to Dr. Cynthia Lemon. A born again Christian, he became an ordained minister in 1986. He resides in Scottsdale, Arizona where his Meadowlark Lemon Ministries maintains an offi ce.
