FAST for STRoke
Things are happening at WhiteStone
hosted its annual Family Fun Day with more
than 400 visitors for a day of festivities. The fun
included a barbecue lunch, bands, a petting zoo,
carriage rides, and jump fun for the children.
Next on the centennial calendar is a party
for both fraternities. The residents and staff of
WhiteStone would like the opportunity to say
thank you for 100 years of fraternal support by
inviting all Masons and Eastern Star members
to attend a fraternal picnic/open house between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday,
August 10, 2013. Music will fill the air as attendees enjoy a picnic lunch, spend time with
residents, and participate with tours of the
campus to get an up close look to all the recent
renovations and expansion.
WhiteStone plans to end its centennial year
with a special birthday party dinner for its residents in November to celebrate the centennial of
moving in its first residents, Mr. and Mrs. Stone
in November 1913.

GREENSBORO — It has been a successful year so far for WhiteStone: A Masonic and
Eastern Star retirement community. The community recently announced selling out its 46unit expansion project, several months ahead of
its original projections.
"The Board of Directors, management, residents, and staff, are very pleased with the success
of the recent expansion. It's been a long process,
having started in 2007, involving a lot of hard
work of our staff, cooperation among our residents, and commitment of the Board of Directors, but it's been definitely worth it in the end,"
said Executive Director Mark Kolada.
In addition to the recently completed expansion, WhiteStone also renovated its main dining room/kitchen. The Linville clubhouse now
features a new library, resident store, game room,
and lounge. They've also added a fellowship hall,
bistro, and arts and crafts area.
WhiteStone has also been busy kicking off its
centennial anniversary in which it held an employee reunion in February where it acknowledged four special employees for over 30 years
of tenure at the community. In May, the campus

Control your risk factors for stroke which are high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes,
obesity, smoking, excess alcohol, excess salt, too little exercise, excess calories, and atrial fibrillation.
