WATERSPORTS, RENTALS & PUBLIC BEACH ACCESS ELKHARTLAKE.COM | 2 6 ELKHART LAKE BOATING REGULATIONS A Coast Guard-approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD) must be on board and accessible for each person. "SLOW NO WAKE" speed is in effect from 7:30pm to 10:00am daily. This means the slowest speed at which a boat can maintain steerage. Maintain "SLOW NO WAKE" speed within 100 feet of any boat, swimmer, diver, or raft, and between the shoreline and NO WAKE buoys. Boats towing persons must stay at least 100 feet away from swimmers, divers, rafts, or other boats. Boats towing skiers, tubers, or similar activities must have an observer in addition to the pilot. No motorboat operation on Sundays from the 2nd Sunday of June to the 3rd Sunday of September. Only electric trolling motors allowed. There is a radar-enforced speed limit of 35mph on the water. Maintain a counter-clockwise course while water skiing, jet skiing, or during high- traffic boating times. A Sheboygan County Launch Permit is required at the Elkhart Lake Boat Landing (N8091 County Road P). Permits are available in the brown boxes near the launch.
