She is survived by her husband, Everett, and daughter, Julie. After graduation, Eve married Everett Baker and relocated to Coco Beach, FL, where she taught senior English, Spanish, and Russian. She spent many hours on the beach while Everett worked as an Apollo/ Saturn V launch team member. Four years later, they moved to Dallas, TX, where Eve worked for the state of Texas licensing daycare centers from 1970- 72. She later managed a daycare center, Happiness House, which had horses and a swimming pool. After moving to Grand Rapids, MI, in 1974, Eve established and became president of Eve's Books. This business lasted many years. At one time, Eve had the third- or fourth-largest selection of gun books of any company in the country. Eve was voted Grand Valley Corvette Association's most valuable member three years in a row (1981-83). She then moved and resided for several decades in Fort Wayne, IN. In addition to the book business, she started a new venture as a promoter of Collector's shows. She would rent a venue for a day and have vendors display for sale retired Enesco, Dept. 56, Snow Babies, Precious Moments, Snow Village, etc., for sale. Eve's tables had lots of Hallmark Ornaments. Shows were hosted in Fort Wayne, IN; Detroit, Dearborn, and Southfield, MI; and Columbus, Strongsville, and Loveland, OH. In addition to German chocolate cake, Eve loved Hallmark Ornaments and corresponding with letters to her friends. More than one person has confided to me that it was a sad day when they learned that their only true friend had passed. Eve was a life member of the 101st Airborne Association, OGCA, and the Michigan Antique Arms Association. She was also an NRA Benefactor member. –Everett Baker ALUMNAE NEWS We Asked Alumnae...
