2 Gamma Crescent We Appreciate Your Support I am a sophomore mechanical engineering major from Pittstown, New Jersey. I was elected to this position at a very crucial time for our chapter. We had just accepted the terms of a four-year rebuilding period from The Home Office after a string of mistakes in the chapter. Despite the tough spot, the executive board has done a great job getting our chapter back on track with the goals and values of AGR National as well as an image of our chapter with which we are all happy and comfortable. Despite a relatively uneventful semester socially, brothers have still had an exciting spring and, more importantly, one that will positively impact our chapter moving forward. For example, we have successfully attended two weekend-long training sessions hosted by Plaid that have given brothers a better understanding of how we can work together and how our personal goals align with those of the chapter and AGR. Looking forward, we have two more Plaid sessions in the fall. As we come off organizational suspension this summer, I plan to work with our alumni, chapter advisers, and resources provided by National to get the ball rolling again and keep our house trending in a positive direction. We hope to recruit a large class in the fall, find constructive social outlets, and jump headfirst into our philanthropic efforts like Homecoming and THON. Overall, we sit at an exciting and important time for this chapter, and I'm confident that we can get us to where we need to be. Noble Ruler Armend Berisha '23 (Γ1947) G e t t i n g B a c k o n T r a c k W hen I first became a brother of AGR, the thought of running for exec never crossed my mind. After several meetings with my big brother and former VNR Finance Vince Diaco '22 (Γ1908), I knew it was what I wanted to pursue. I saw our culture shifting in the wrong direction, and I ran to perhaps become a good example for future brothers who later walk through our doors. It has not been an easy semester by any means, as the changes that have been made to our brotherhood have greatly affected how the finance chair can conduct his responsibilities. From one semester to the next, I took over the finances of AGR when we lost half of our active brotherhood. Even though there was a decrease, our costs remained the same. I am pleased to say that, as of now, we have fully paid off our meal plan caterer ($90,000) and have paid $80,000 in rent. I was not able to achieve this alone, as the brotherhood and the rest of the executive board helped me to ensure financial stability for the fraternity. After months of looking for new suitable caterers, I recently signed a contract that will be more financially friendly for our fraternity. This will allow me to make sure we are spending more money to improve our house, which will attract more brothers to AGR.
