G O A L S F O R 2 0 2 4 LAMBDA CRESCENT | Spring 2024 W hen we consider how Lambda Chapter can continue to excel in the coming years, we ask ourselves: who are our friends and who are our competitors? Since our founding, we have closely aligned with both the Alpha Gamma Rho National office and the University of Minnesota. In recent years, however, we have witnessed an unfortunate pattern when it comes to the St. Paul campus. The campus is home to seven colleges: CFANS and the colleges of design, veterinary medicine, biological sciences, Extension, education and human development and continuing and professional studies in addition to University Libraries. Unfortunately, as the university allocates its funds for upgrades and expansion every year, St. Paul is often forgotten. We have no direct internal link representing us in the president's office. You may have seen an email from me in February concerning the five Greek houses forming a St. Paul Greek Alliance. We are meeting regularly with students, administration, and faculty to help move St. Paul forward. We've been in touch with the CFANS alumni board and the MN Royal Executive Committee and are working on allegiances with the other six colleges and stakeholders. It is time to collaborate with our fellow St. Paul Greek houses and beyond to create a wide and efficient funnel for potential new members! If we can bring more men to our campus, I have faith that our undergraduates will then demonstrate how our academic, social, and housing opportunities separate us from our competition. Change is inevitable, and trends will rise and fall, but our goal with the Alliance is to bring together interested parties and potentially invest $1 billion into the property and facilities that make up our campus and our research and outreach centers around the state. Luckily, we've been met with applause rather than scorn—so far. We fervently hope we have not started a couple of decades too late. If you think you can help with this effort, please get in touch with me. We'll need you!
