We welcomed an affiliate from the University of Nebraska and are excited to have her join us. Currently at 244 members, we are thrilled to share and uphold the values of Gamma Phi Beta as we continue to grow our sisterhood. Studying Hard We are proud of our chapter's 3.58 GPA and rank of third in grades for the fall 2023 semester among all Panhellenic sorori es. We are also thrilled to share that our freshman pledge class ranked second in grades with a 3.62. Our members are working hard toward their academic success! Order of 1874 Recipients—Again! We are one of nine chapters that received Order of 1874 from Interna onal for 2023. This is one of Gamma Phi Beta's highest achievements in recognizing the hard work and dedica on the execu ve council and chapter members put forth throughout each academic year. We received this in 2022 and are working hard for a three-peat for 2024. Sigma Chapter looks forward to attending and being recognized for this honor at Gamma Phi Beta's International Convention in Chicago on June 26-29. We hope to see a lot of alumnae there! Breaking Philanthropy Records This new term's execu ve council has been busy pu ng together exci ng sisterhood and philanthropy events. Our annual Moonball event in March was a very successful basketball tournament. Chapter members organized and coached teams, raising $5,482 for our philanthropy, Girls on the Run—a new record! We also enjoyed hos ng an event at the chapter facility to make hair es for girls par cipa ng in Girls on the Run. Making Sisterhood and Health a Priority In February, we hosted a social for Valen ne's Day and had a sisterhood event at a movie theater. We thank Leah Moores '22 for organizing a fun social and Lily Hales '21 for a great sisterhood event! Our Real Wellness Week in March was a big success thanks to our chairwoman, Tess Miller '21, planning ac vi es and events each day of the week for our members. We enjoyed walks and exercising at Orangetheory and loved Members of the 2020 pledge class ready to cheer on the Chiefs on Superbowl Sunday. Taylor Polsak '23 and Hailey Auslander '23 at the KU vs. Baylor basketball game on February 10. Celebrating Sigma Achievements PHILANTHROPIC, ACADEMIC, AND CHAPTER SUCCESS Susan and her husband, Troy, live in Overland Park, Kansas, and have three children, ages 23, 22, and 19. Meet our new AHC member, Susan Pipes Kerr '87! par cipa ng in Pilates classes with one of our members, Taylor Getz '22, who just opened her own Pilates studio in Lawrence. We are so proud of Taylor and her business endeavors, and we hope she inspires other women in our chapter to con nue to pu ng forth hard work into their lifelong goals. Celebrating Successes Many of our members are leaders on campus, including Carolyne Abel '21, who is an execu ve officer on KU's Panhellenic as director of interfraternal rela ons and member development. We want to thank our amazing advisor team, AHC president, and AHC board for all that they do here at Sigma Chapter. We celebrated our seniors during Senior Week and look forward to our annual Crescent Ball at the end of April. Please stop by and visit 1339 whenever you are in town!
