A second-floor porch conversion will include two bedrooms, a study room, and a state-of-the-art
conference room equipped for interactive video conferencing. Students study differently today, and this
will continue to evolve. The lounge will provide space for things like small group work and collaboration.
EDUCATIONAL GOALS
UW is more academically rigorous than ever before while priding
itself on the value of a quality education. Growing college debt
is a national trend. Since 2004, the average amount of student
debt at graduation has grown 56%—more than double the rate of
inflation. Because our fraternity is an extracurricular organization
that needs dues to fund its activities, our membership is hit hard
by the tuition costs students bear today. It is heartbreaking to
see good men decline bids or deactivate due to financial reasons.
Our brothers operate on a sound budget and stretch every
penny; we must assist them in this experience that can transform
their lives in similar ways to ours.
To be a viable fraternity in today's environment, we must recruit academically talented men who
will live the values of Love, Honor, and Truth. Just like an attractive, competitive facility, we need to
continually set ourselves apart in attracting strong men to carry forth our legacy.
Revitalizing our scholarship program will set us apart, bolstering our reputation of high academic
achievement and celebrating the achievements of our members.
