T H E I N D I A N A G R A M INDIANA GAMMA CHAPTER OF SIGMA ALPHA EPSILON AT INDIANA UNIVERSITY WINTER 2024 W ith a chapter of 167 active members and a house GPA of 3.21, Indiana Gamma has made numerous strides in improving its academic standing and philanthropic involvement. Engagement in Kelley Workshops, intramural sports, and sorority philanthropy events have contributed to ΣAE's legacy at Indiana University. Regrettably, during fall break, the chapter house suffered a severe flood due to a burst in an unchecked main waterline, resulting in significant damage to common areas and several rooms. Despite this challenge affecting our ability to host regular chapter events, Indiana Gamma's morale remains robust. Looking ahead to next semester, the Gamma cycling team is training intensely for the Little 500. Led by bike team manager Luke Naas '25, Brothers Mathew Naas '27, Lucas Lemme '26, and Rhett Skvarna '26 placed second in the Men's Fall Series and aim to continue their success into 2024. Furthermore, our chapter participated in the Greek Basketball Association (GBA), which includes all active fraternities at IU. Coached by Peyton Hopeck '24 and David Brubach '25, our team secured a 44-32 victory against FIJI in the championship. The team is eager to defend its IU championship title in the spring season of 2024. Our members also represent the chapter in various Kelley School of Business organizations. Andrew Davey '25 and Nathan Falander '25 are involved in the Accounting Tax Advisory Workshop, which provides experiential learning, skill development, and networking for aspiring accounting majors. Brother Michael Regirer '25 serves on the Corporate Strategy Club executive board, leading presentations on the latest corporate developments. We even have three members in the Global Sales Workshop, despite its competitive application process. Our unwavering commitment to academics has resulted in a steady increase in our house GPA each semester in recent years. Internally, a new, all-sophomore executive board was elected this fall and is enthusiastic to further Indiana Gamma's legacy. Despite the chapter house's current state, the new board has commenced planning for early 2024 and beyond. Indiana Gamma has also welcomed a new house director, Joy Wells! Her collaboration with our governance and construction teams has accelerated the recovery process. With excitement for events such as Paddy Murphy Week, Mom's Weekend, and the Little 500, I am confident in our chapter's resilience and our ability to rebuild stronger than before.
