By Shanana Rain Golden-Bear Quartzsite, AZ - Members of the Quartzsite Town Council and Town staff held a ribbon cutting for the new Quartzsite Trolley on Wednesday, December 18th, 2013. The new service provides fi xed route trans- portation connecting various special event areas with free parking lot areas throughout the Town. Quartzsite Trolley operates in a Counter Clockwise loop around town. General fares are $2/person one way, $5/Day Pass, or $45 for a Seasonal Pass (available at Town Hall & Quartzsite Busi- ness Chamber of Commerce). The trolley will pass by trolley stops every 45 minutes. The trolley will operate daily from 8:20 a.m. to 5:20 p.m., with no service between 12:50 p.m. and 1:35 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to take the Trol- ley and park their vehicle at 3 The park and ride locations include Town Park at Senter and Plymouth, The Main Event at Exit 17 and the East entrance to Johnson's RV Sales lot at Riggles and Main Street. The trolley seats 20 with standees up to 30, has bicycle racks, and two wheelchair positions. The 31-foot trolley vehicle was obtained through the Yuma County Intergovernmental Public Transportation Authority (YCIPTA) at a rate of $1.00 per year. Council approved a maximum obligation of $19,565 which staff reported would be supported by advertising sales and ridership fees. Pick up a brochure of the Trolley Stops at Town Hall, 465 N.
