Arbor Day tree planting at Town Hall SEE WAM PAGE 22 WHAT'S INSIDE By Shanana Rain Golden-Bear Quartzsite, AZ - La Paz County's fi rst state regulated medical marijuana dispensary clinic is now open in Quartzsite. Wickenburg Alternative Medicine, LLC (WAM) is lo- cated at 511 E. Main Street, in the Betty Hunter Real Estate building. Bonnie Riley, Registered Dispensary Agent, said the medical marijuana be- ing sold in Quartzsite is being cultivated in Wickenburg. The clinic is not open to the general public. Qualifi ed patients, who have been diagnosed with one of the debilitating medical con- ditions, need to get a written certifi cation from a physician before being issued a patient ID card from the state. Quali- fi ed patients must have their card to enter the clinic and purchase product. All purchas- es are tracked by the state. The allowable amount of marijua- na for patients and caregivers is 2.5 ounces. Qualifi ed patients or their designated caregiver may cul- tivate medical marijuana if the qualifying patient lives more than 25 miles from the nearest dispensary. Main Street, Quartzsite By Shanana Rain Golden-Bear Quartzsite, AZ - The area in front of Town Hall received more trees as youth from the After School Recreation Program celebrated Arbor Dy Wed. April 24th. It has been over 135 years since J. Sterling Morton founded Arbor Day in Ne- braska. The tree planted by the After School Recreation Program participants was a Tipuana Tipo from South Africa. Town Employees Dana Anderson did the introductions and Jeta Aranda read the History of Arbor Day and the Mayor's proclamation. Bubba White also helped plant the tree along with all the youngsters.
