26 www.DesertMessenger.com December 20, 2023 LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. –The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Lake Havasu Field Offi ce announces the temporary closure and restrictions of selected public lands for the Parker 400 off-high- way vehicle (OHV) race events in and around the Parker 400 course near the communities of Parker and Bouse. The temporary closure takes effect at 11:59 p.m. Jan. 8, 2024, through 11:59 p.m., Jan.13, 2024, and the temporary restrictions from 11:59 p.m. Jan. 7, 2024, through 11:59 p.m. Jan. 13, 2024. Access to public lands in and around the event will be temporarily closed, restricted, or designated as spec- tator areas. Restricted and closed areas will be marked at key access points with signage, fencing, or bar- riers. Maps and information regard- ing both closures and impacted re- stricted areas are attached. BLM annouces temporary closure & restrictions of public lands for Parker 400 race OHV events UNLTD Off-Road Racing an- nounced their partnership with the Colorado River Indian Tribes (CRIT) today, that will return the Start/Finish Line, main pits, spec- tating and camping to the CRIT Gauntlet, located just east of the Avi Suquilla Airport near downtown Parker, Arizona. The Parker 400, in partnership with Tread Lightly!, has announced an industry wide desert clean-up event Saturday, January 6th, 2024 at the CRIT Start/Finish Line Gauntlet at 8:00AM. The goal of the event is to unite the off-road community and clean up waste dumped illegally in the Parker area as well as promote sustainable habits and responsible public land use to improve Arizona's pristine desert landscape. The Parker Regional Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Down- town Experience event on Janu- ary 11, 2024 in conjunction with the Unlimited Racing Parker 400 Tech and Contingency Rows for the Parker Off Road Races happening at the same time in the same location (Downtown Parker, AZ). This will be an ALL DAY event - 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. This event should have large turnouts, as there will be other Vendors selling tires, gear, and ac- cessories for the racers as well. This has become premier annual events for the Parker area and draw ex- ceptionally large crowds of off-road racers, fans, locals, and winter visi- tors and these events do not happen without support from our amazing community. Where can you watch The Parker 400 Off-Road Race? There are three locations to watch the Parker 400 off-road racing ac- tion: • CRIT Start/Finish Line Gauntlet (Qualifying, Limited Race and Un- limited Race) • Shea Road Spectator Area (Quali- fying, Limited Race and Unlimited Race) • Bouse Spectator Area (Limited Race and Unlimited Race) No per person tickets are needed to watch the races, but all three areas require a sticker for your vehicle. These parking and camping stickers will get your vehicle into all three spectator areas and are good for all three days of racing: Parking tickets $35. Camping Tickets are $125 or $250. VIP passes are also available. Can I spectate the race for free? Yes! You can park downtown Park- er for free, and walk or bike into the Gauntlet Start/Finish line area and watch the race action for no charge. There is no per-person ticket charge like other major off-road race events or popular sporting events. What are the simple rules I have to follow while spectating? We have three simple rules for spec- tating our races: • Stay 50 feet back from the race- course at all times. • Never cross the racecourse, for any reason. • Pack out your trash! Important: If you will be driving an OHV vehicle onto CRIT land, OR operating an OHV vehicle while on CRIT land, it must be registered with the Colorado River Indian Tribe and have a "CRIT OHV Stick- er" attached to the vehicle. CRIT OHV stickers can be purchased directly with CRIT Fish and Game located at 2100 Mutahar St, Parker, AZ 85344. Please park in queue on Mutahar Street and walk in to Fish & Game to purchase your "CRIT OHV Sticker". Note that this is an annual OHV pass which is good for the entire 2024 season.
