Fall 2022 Housing Corporation Board Update The renovation of the Ronald Glenn Reeves Gamma Gamma ATO house was completed in 2021 and 2022, and as you saw in the Capital Campaign article, we are working to pay down debt and begin fund- ing the long-term upkeep and future projects budgets. The Board of Trustees (made up of many Alumni and select chapter officers) works closely with the chapter brothers for the immediate and long-term health of the ATO fraternal experience. In a similar fashion the Hous- ing Corporation Board works with the chapter House Manager to maintain the physical chapter house itself…in its newly renovated state. The HCB also manages the capital campaign funds now and into the future. The HCB monitors the house structure, hardware, and systems to make repairs, prevent breakdowns and address other issues that will inevitably crop up in a large building/dormitory. The HCB also manages outside vendors contracted to inspect and maintain the many mechanical systems in the house, i.e. ice machine, water soften- er, water heaters, new HVAC systems, safety and sprinklers, etc. We also look at other projects, now and into the future, to enhance or im- prove the chapter house, as well as look at liability issues that could have negative impacts anywhere on the property or in the house. The HCB is also charged with monitoring living conditions and working with chapter leadership to modify the rooms or common spaces to continue to keep the ATO Fraternity competitive and "the best place to live" at Rose Hulman. In the spirit of all this here are some current efforts and projects: · Installed improved kitchen range hoods to reduce grease in the air · Created a secure storage place for the 2 foyer TV's when not in use · Modified front gutter and yard drainage taking water away from the foundation · Lower level double doors are being replaced to improve security and egress · Plans to cut down trees/limbs that could damage the house · Painted foyer and formal room last summer · Looking at enhancements to study spaces, and rooms to accom- modate additional brothers · Future-Look at enclosing the trash dumpsters-ugly first impres- sion of ATO · Future-Paint chapter room and add furniture for brothers to hang out in I want to thank the 10 board members of the Housing Corporation Board as well as Tyler Kimbrell (recent President) who volunteer their time and talents to our chapter and this board. It takes teams of alumni and actives for both the BOT and HCB to function effective- ly…creating a quintessential fraternal experience at the Alpha Tau Omega Ron Reeves Gamma Gamma chapter house. We are always looking for additional alumni interested in being on the board or being "expert resources" that can benefit the chapter and the HCB efforts. Please contact David Ayars, Chuck Sigman, Brad Munchel, Bruce Ungethiem or any BOT or HCB member if you'd like to learn more.
