3 E P S I L O N - G A M M A C H A P T E R J ack Fisher '63 was first introduced to Greek life at Tulane, where he attended on a football scholarship. A couple of his football friends pledged Kappa Sigma, but he couldn't afford to do the same. He later transferred to Louisiana Tech, where he was reacquainted with Kappa Sig on a campus where Greek life was much more affordable. "They were a great group of guys," Jack said. "Epsilon-Gamma put me with a group of good, like-minded men." He appreciated the values that the brothers shared, and over time the Chapter taught him the importance of having a support system. The brothers from Jack's era have stayed close over the years, with which Jack credits Chuck Baragona '61. Chuck has kept the group connected through various events and tailgates as well as an email chain. "If you're sick," Jack warns, "you'd better be careful!" as that brother will undoubtedly get swarmed with emails. As connected as his era is, one way that Jack hopes to see Epsilon- Gamma improve is in communication between the active brothers and alumni. The alumni communications program is one way to do just that. Jack is also happy to support his collegiate brothers by contributing to the capital campaign, but Jack advises there's more than one way to support the Chapter in this endeavor. "Not everyone can afford to give, but just talking to people and spreading the word is great." Overall, Jack is impressed with the campaign's goals and progress. "The new location is perfect; much closer to campus. It will be a huge asset." He is also optimistic that the new Chapter House will attract quality brothers and motivate alumni to get reacquainted with the Chapter. "And to Jerry Lorey '92, thank you for your support and leadership of this project!" Jack and his wife live in Shreveport, Louisiana.
